What are Alumni Fund Contributions used for? (Class of 1993)

Dear Classmate,

As autumn has settled into New York, with leaves falling and holiday decorations (already!) popping up in shop windows, we write to launch Alumni Fund 2014. A couple of weeks ago, our dedicated 30 member agent team set goals of $150,000 and 60% class participation for this year’s fund.

What are Alumni Fund contributions used for? The Alumni Fund, together with the Parents Fund, contributes 8% of the annual budget. Collectively, our gifts are of tremendous importance to daily operations; they directly and immediately support inspired teaching, scholarly research, extracurricular and community service opportunities, and financial aid.

Please be a part of our alumni’s remarkable 200 year-old tradition of supporting today’s Ephs, just as we were supported as students. That over 60% of our class participates each year is testament to our close ties to Williams and support for the next generation to enjoy the incredible education Williams offers.

Please speak to your classmate volunteer who contacts you in the coming weeks. We all volunteer because we love Williams, and we love the opportunity to catch up with all of you.

If you are ready to join us today, the easiest way to give is online at http://give2.williams.edu. You will find many options available, including spreading your gift over several months or designating it to the College priority that resonates most with you. For more on designating your gift, please visit: http://giving.williams.edu/designated-giving.

You also may give by calling the Alumni Fund office at 888-374-8110 (toll-free), or mailing a check payable to Williams College to Williams College Annual Giving, 75 Park Street, Williamstown, MA 01267.

We know you have many worthy causes to support, and we are truly thankful that so many of you count Williams among your philanthropic priorities. Thank you for your generosity and commitment!

Happy Autumn,

Your Head Agents
