My name is Isabel Andrade, I’m a member of the Class of 2018, and an international student from Quito, Ecuador. I want to extend my deepest thanks for your contribution to the Alumni Fund.
Thank you for the opportunity to be surrounded by people so similar to myself yet from backgrounds so different from my own. Through my entry, the International Club, and my favorite club, Storytime, I have learned about different experiences, traditions, and world views.
Notwithstanding our differences, we also have so much in common, from an avid curiosity and a love for learning to a conscientious desire to improve our communities. I firmly belief that it’s connections like these which are slowly making the world a little more open, more understanding, and more kind.
Thank you for the opportunity to learn from amazing professors, who in addition to being among the smartest people in the world are also people who deeply care about their students’ personal growth and well being. These are the people that have helped me find my major in political science while still retaining my passion for, and taking classes in, biology and philosophy. These are also the people who, by inviting me over for Thanksgiving dinner or helping me pursue my filmmaking hobby, have helped me make of Williams my second home.
Though I’ve only been here for two years, Williams is already the home of many of my happiest memories: hiking Mount Greylock to see the sunrise from the top, nights of movie watching, playing card games or baking cookies, my first time seeing snow and my first time sledding down the hill next to 9th hole on the Taconic Golf Course. Thank you for making these experiences possible.
Sincerely,
Isabel Andrade ’18
On February 17, 2016, the entire student body came together to celebrate all the things that members of the Williams community do for one another and to show their gratitude and “EphPreciation” for your Alumni Fund contribution by signing thank you cards. As such, the signature inside your card may not belong to the student profiled on this page.
